Chaotic World: Rinmaru's Ascension

Ascension is a visual novel game made by rinmarugames . The story follows Aida and her companions as they travel through the land of Arunia .

Aida lives with her best friend Sky in a camp. Sky and her father found her years ago badly wounded and helped her. Since then she's with them. The game starts with the girls being in an inn where they scam some people. With the haul, they return to the Camp. Sky finds a hint about a hidden temple in her dead mother's journal and convinces Aida to look into it.

And.....well....that's all i can tell you without spoilering a whole lot (the game is rather short) ^^° But i can say as much: they go on a journey and meet the dwarf Tillie, the moon elf Zander and the normal human (lol) Jace. The boys are, of course, the love interests.

I love, love, LOVE this game! ! ! ! ! ! !

Although it's very short and not finished (the third Chapter comes out in mid-March >.<) it's my absolute favourite out of all the Otome Games or Visual Novels i've played. I'll explain why:

a) i like the graphics and the design

b) the story is intriguing

c) the story telling is funny and cool

AND

d) I ABSOLUTELY love the Main Character Aida!!!

AIDA:

Chapter 1 Version and Chapter 2 Default Version

She's half noble (kind of a race known for their superior sight, speed, strength and reflexes) and half human, 24 years old (at least in the 2nd chapter), really cool *fangirling*, sarcastic and uses foul language. So much that somebody referred to her as "drunk dwarven sailor in a girls costume" XD

Then there's

Zander:

Chapter1 Version and Chapter 2 Default Version

He's a Moon elf, 28 years old (in Chapter 2), a mage, which makes his emotions 10 times more powerful, he could burn one easily if he can't control his magic. In Chapter 1 he's a bit teary but still cute and still my favourite ♥ Out of the group, he's the one who stays cool, kind of the older brother who watches his little siblings *g*

Jace:

Chapter1 Version and Chapter 2 Default Version

Jace is the laid back type (29years old). He's often drunk (though i didn't see him drunk in the game even once) and a Ladies' Man. His Nickname for Aida is "Gorgeous" *g* But he has a sad past, he was part of the Knight Order which was betrayed and wiped out, making him the only one left alive. He's funny, a bit dorky XD but totally cute ^-^

Sky:

Chapter1 Version and Chapter 2 Default Version

Sky is Aida's best friend since she saved her life. Her mother died a long time ago and she now lives with her father and Aida in a camp of thieves. She's 25, very intelligent and mature, but tends to tear up very easily.

Tillie:

Tillie's a dwarf and an alchemist and 28 years old. She is a very jovial person who likes to laugh, cares a lot about her friends and likes to drink. And get's really funny when she's drunk XD

Gameplay

As in typical Otome Games, you get to choose what to say or do next a few times and thus change the course of the story.

There are three types of answers: Cunning, Rage and Goodwill. Depending on what you choose (and how often) details will change. For example, if you don't have enough Goodwill points, you may not be able to choose the goodwill answer at a certain point.

I love how little details change depending on what answers you pick XD E.G. if you choose more Goodwill than anything other, there'll appear a few cute 'tattoos' on Aida's face >.<

The, let's call them "love replies", should be self-explanatory

Btw, you won't be able to continue playing with the data of the first chapter, you'll have to start completely anew. That's why the second Chapter begins with a menu where you can decide which traits you mostly used in the first Chapter. And how the characters shall look (hairstyle and in Aida's Case tattoos)
